Design and Company Biography
Vitreluxe LLC is a design based glassblowing studio with works featured in permanent
Museum Collections, Privet collections and presented by high end design shops across the U.S.A., London, and Honk Kong. The principle designer, gaffer and owner is Lynn Everett Read. The studio was founded in 1999 in Portland, Oregon. We offer a selection of glass products including lighting, tabletop, barware and sculptural art. The studio exclusively uses soda-lime glass designed for the off hand glass making process.
Vitreluxe was founded on the concept that product design should be innovative with a
strong technical foundation to sustain a high level of quality and craftsmanship. At the
core is a respect for the creativity heritage of the American Studio Glass Movement. This tradition is rooted in exploration and superior quality that can only be achieved by handmade practices. Lynn Everett Read was honored by Wallpaper magazine for
domestic design in 2011 with an award for “Best Vase”. The American Craft Magazine
published a story about the “Creative Production” being made at Vitreluxe by Lynn
Everett Read in Dec. 2012.
